Who is leading these birding trips?

All trips are led by at least one trip leader. Some trips will have local guides or multiple leaders depending on the location and time of year. All trip leaders and trip guides are well vetted and associated with big year birders. Occassionally we will hire local guides for a day or two to help with our birding in a lesser known region. You will find information about your trip guides and leaders under the description of the trip on the website.

Something has come up, can I cancel?

We are sorry to hear you cannot make it on your trip, please email us immediately at bigyearbirders@gmail.com for help in cancelling your trip.

If you have only paid the deposit then you likely can get a full refund, minus the $20 processing fee. This fee comes from the transaction fees created while using our website. If you've paid for your entire trip or part of the trip please see our cancelation policy to figure out how much money you can be refunded.

I paid for a trip, now what?

Congratulations, we can't wait to get out there birding with you! Your 10% deposit will secure your spot on the trip. We will contact you shortly with more information and a form for you to fill out with waivers and important trip dates. You can start thinking about booking flights once you receive our itinerary of locations or plan pre or post trip hotels and stays. We know this is a big step and we can't wait too take you out birding with us. Full payments are due 100 days prior to your trip.
